"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Happy Birthday Amaine!

It's Birthday Sharmaine Ann Mangune Bulusan! Amaine, or Babs as we fondly call her celebrated her 19th birthday last Saturday. Her birthday really fell on a Friday, so she decided to celebrate it the day after.

She's one among my barkada, in highschool. We haven't seen each other for a very long time because we are both busy doing stuff, so its nice to finally have a time to catch up not only with her but with my whole set of friends.

Whats Keeping Me Busy Lately? Part 1

These! Thesis matters. These were actually from my thesismate, Julian's laptop. These were the modified interface from the initial interface that I made about two to three weeks ago.We are making a Solid Waste Management Information System for Quezon City. We shall work on District 2 first.

We only have 1 and a half month to go to complete the working prototype of our system so we might as well double the effort. Hee. I'm not much of a programmer (I am certainly not) but this term, I should be trying.

God Bless us!

Love lots,
Aly.

Like My Mother Does

This song was sung by the American Idol finalist Laureen. I had just heard it over the radio, a few moments back and I couldn't help but cry. The song reminded me of my mother, whom we all know is far away from us- like continents away from us. The song made me realize how I miss every part of her. It made me want to hug her tight. Every word in the lyrics is just fit to describe how I feel about my mom. I love her to bits. I do not only see her as an icon of authority and respect, but a person of fun and love. She's my best-est friend.

She's the person who never gets tired of reminding me of how great I am, as a person. She never fails to bring out the best in me. She always believes in my potentials. She never lost her faith in me.

She's the person I can share all my thoughts with, my secrets, my blunders, my angst, my goals and my dreams. She has been my refuge. She understands me, but never tolerates me in my wrong-doings. She's been there for me, accepted me with open-arms when I make mistakes.

We have been together through good times and bad. She has seen me cry. I have seen her weep. We get strengths from each other. We face problems together, and eventually laugh about it together too. She has just been the best.

She's a fighter. She has never given up of me. She has never given up on us, and for that I will always be thankful. I am truly blessed for having her.

These words are really not enough for me to express how much I love her, how much proud I am to have a mother like her and how much I am longing to be with her again. Indeed, I have always been her baby, and I think I will always be.

Love you mama. :)

Forever your baby girl,
Yana

Priorities Over Wants

I just thought of sharing this with you guys because I really have been wanting to have different things as of the moment. I've been wanting to shop for more than three months now, but until now I haven't bought anything legit for me to claim that I have already shopped.

Ugh, so currently, these are the things that I've been wanting to buy/spend money on. I have sorted it out in categories just so it would be easier to share with you the reason behind the desire.

Clothes and Shoes- I have a great love for clothes so I am really craving for a shopping spree. If the mall's not on sale, I would definitely prefer shopping in Tiangges like St. Francis, Greenhills and Divi. I'd love to shop there than to spend grand on regular mall prices. Hee. Ukay-ukay spree would be also one of my desires.

So for clothes or shoes, I am considering these as of the moment (list may change without prior notice) :P

  • Jumpsuits
  • Body Con Skirts
  • Blouses
  • Accessories (Earrings and Necklaces)
  • Boots, Heels and Wedges.

Makeup- I have a super love for make up. As in super (redundant), but I do not own lots of pieces neither I do put excessive make up on when I am outside. Concealer, face powder and lipstick works fine na with me. What makes make up addicting for me its variety of colors. I love seeing different colors of eye make up pieces and lipsticks. It's comparable to a kid seeing a box of 128 colors of Crayola, with eyes open-wide because of joy and excitement. Heehee. With that, these are the things that I've been wanting to buy for the longest time.
  • Eyeshadow Palettes (88 color palette)
  • More lipsticks

Wellness- I am getting conscious about... ooops, not my health but my weight these past months. I've constantly been gaining weight since my birthday month and I think I still cannot find a perfect solution to remedy it. It has been an outbreak, so to speak. One of the things that I am considering is to go to the gym and exercise. Moreover, if you know me pretty well, you would understand the reason behind my desire to buy C-Lium Fibre, and that is because one of the reasons I easily gain weight is that, I do not toooooooooot toooooooot, and I have a pretty wasted metabolism. Haha (I didn't know if it was a good decision for me to share that with you or what)
  • C-Lium Fibre
  • Gym + Muay Thai

Gadgets- I want to blog as frequently as possible so these are the things that I find helpful. Heee
  • Netbook
  • Camera (Preferably underwater)

So after all these rants, and explanations-

What's stopping me?

The fact that my priority is to save has been my major reason for not buying those stuff. I do not want to see my savings in the ATM go below my set limit. I promise myself that I should have a certain amount of savings when I reach 21 and I am trying my best to gear towards that. I also think I do not need those things urgently and so they could wait (Oops, I mean, I could wait).

So there. I just thought I needed to share those with you. How about you guys, what are the things that you've been wanting to buy for so long but cannot because of some reason?

Let's not forget to be wise and grateful even without those material things that we've been eyeing for the longest time.

Til my next post!

Addiction: Explained

I've been on my lipstick Mojo for so long. I've been constantly buying lipstick from different shops for almost two months now. Because that, I thought of creating a tab for beauty stuff. I don't know how to connote/address this particular part of my blog actually, but I still named it "Beauty" instead.

This part of my blog would preview different stuff that I have, and stuff that I want to share with you guys for some ideas and reviews(?).

I shall update this tab as soon as I can.

Zaide

Since I cannot do my stuff properly at home because I am either distracted by my dog or the television, I decided to come early to school today to do stuff for our thesis.

I am here eating the sandwich papa made for me and Andrei in Zaide- One of the canteens in La Salle. I am also sipping some Choco Loco Teazers! Good Morning. Hee.

Kabigting's Halo Halo

It was during one of the days in the long weekend, when Anj decided to come over to Angeles to visit us. After touring around town, we went to Marquee mall to look for take aways that he could bring home as "pasalubong" to his family. We ended up eating this super duper yummy Kabigting's Halo Halo after buying some pasalubong, inspite of the super duper cold and moist weather.

Marquee mall is the nearest branch of Kabigting's halo halo to our place in Pampaga, so whenever I get a chance, I see to it that I visit them to eat their halo-halo. It actually originated in Arayat, Pamapnga, so surely I can say that they have a branch back in their hometown. Their Halo is priced at 60 bucks. For 60 bucks I can say that it is really value for money. The halo halo had only three toppings- Macapuno, Sweetened Kamote and Pastillias. Yes, you heard that right, pastillias. The pastillias added to the richness and creaminess this halo halo has. The generous amount of milk also makes the food yummier. Overall, I have to give this halo-halo and 8.5/10.

I can confidently say that this is my second favorite halo-halo, next to Razon's. I can't wait til I get back to Pampanga and taste this super yummy halo halo again. See you on October-ish to November-ish, Kabiting's!

Thank You God for an Awesome Term!

I might not have a high GPA this term, because of what had initially happened in our Thesis Proposal, but nonetheless I am still very happy and thankful to the Lord for giving me all passing marks for this term. Yey!

I should be even more grateful for Him granting my ultimate wish to be able to take Calculus in the term to come. Calculus and Mobidev are the only two remaining academic courses that I have to take to be able to pursue my OJT next term, and hopefully graduate already by Term 3.

Now, there's no reason for me not to do my part to be able to make this term work. I am forever thankful, and I just can't help but share this to you. Forgive me. Hee.

Let me share with you two of my favorite verses. These two verses really helped me keep going through the ups and downs of the term.

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24)

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
(Philippians 4:6)

I am still so stoked and happy up until now.
Thank you Lord.
Love you forever!

Yana

Sorry for not updating my blog very often, these past few days.

We have just passed our thesis proposal and since then I have been busy making the web pages of our system.

Plus, my laptop's charging pin broke down just a couple of weeks ago. Lenovo said I have to wait for 30-45 days to have my laptop repaired.

I am using my father's laptop now. No legit laptop for more than a month.

I shall update my blog the soonest time possible.

Zooo excited to blog about my bargain cheap spots around the Metro.
Love you all!

Forever,
Aly
